The International University in Saint Petersburg is the first Russian not state university, which history
of establishment is closely connected to the history of formation of new Russia. Since 1991 we train businessmen
focused on successful work in domestic and international business. Today it is possible to receive degree of

to pass the program of the first and second higher education and to take part in
foreign training at our university.
We help our students to study business both from a position of the hired manager, and from a position of the
owner which is the safe investment of the entrant into the successful future.
Mission of the International University
Our high school is created with the purpose of preparation of top-experts for development of market economy
and a democratic civil society. The International University aspires to give their graduates the education that
is necessary for making right administrative decisions in conditions of constantly changing enviroment, for
creation of successful business ideas and their successful embodiment in reality in our state and abroad.
Realization of these tasks is promoted by the effective organization of training, unique (including author's)
techniques of teaching, close communication between teachers and students, a principle of business orientation
of educational programs and deep immersion in specificity of the international business.
History of the International University
The decision of establishment of the International University was made in August, 1991. Presidents of Russia
and the USA have signed the agreement about the joint, Soviet -American educational project. The initiator of the
project, the first mayor of Moscow G.H.Popov, became the President of the International University and gathered the
best teachers of the country, outstanding economists and politicians under the aegis of the new high school.
Many famous Russians have taken part in the management of the University, development and start
of educational programs. Among them there are:
M.S.Gorbachev, the President of the USSR, the founder of Gorbachev Fund, G.A.Jagodin, corresponding member of the
Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), the first rector of the International University.And also many other well-known
people of modern Russia.
Active participation of leading Russian and foreign economists and politicians in the life of the International
University allows our high school to offer unique opportunities for career in Russia and abroad for students.
The largest domestic and foreign companies, banks, public organizations: the International union of economists,
the Free economic society of Russia, COCA-COLA, IBM and others are among founders and sponsors of the University.
Many Russian and foreign companies are constant partners of the International University and take active part in its
life - from training and employment of graduates to joint
commercial projects.
